We accompany you on your cloud transformation journeys with SAP and help you to find the right approach to plan, design and deploy the right SAP cloud architecture for you as well as taking the first steps in cloud development. As an early adopter for SAP cloud-based architectures and developments with more than 15 years of experience in SAP projects, we have a broad understanding of SAP systems and their technological depth and bring this to your project to deliver state-of-the-art advice and products.
Our core competencies include the areas of software architecture, design and development of SAP cloud-based solutions. This includes both the NEO and Cloud Foundry environment with their cloud platform services. Cloud software follows different approaches to the development and (continuous) deployment of applications, such as the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM), Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) scenarios or new possibilities for HANA databases, which are covered in our portfolio. Of course, this also includes mastery of the required programming languages/frameworks such as SAPUI5 with HTML5, CSS, Javascript, node.js, Java etc. and the corresponding toolset.
In addition to our cloud focus, we attach high importance to keeping the pace with the traditional business processes in SAP ERP and their renewals in SAP S/4HANA, since cloud applications are in most cases integrated with the rock-solid SAP core system, usually hosted on-premise. This includes a broad range of technology know-how from almost 20 years of SAP experience, including ABAP objects as well as newer technologies such as OData Services or SAP Screen Personas.
When we founded projektraum36 back in 2015, the SAP world underwent disruptive changes driven by a new SAP technology stack – new solutions and operation models emerged, tackling the challenges of on-premise SAP systems and changing the world of SAP customer companies. New technologies like SAPUI5, HANA database technology or SAP Business Technology Platform were released and newly acquired cloud solutions, mainly SuccessFactors and Concur, were integrated.
Hybrid SAP landscapes with different paces of innovation arose with a stable core ERP system here and innovations driven on a Cloud Platform there for open B2C- or B2B integrations or Industry 4.0 scenarios. Based on their long-term SAP technology experience, our Co-founders focused on SAP Business Technology Platform, as this vision of a bimodal IT framework was transferred to SAP IT.
As an early adopter for cloud-based architectures and developments, we have already helped several customers and partners over time to setup their hybrid SAP IT landscape and find modern solution architectures based on the SAP Business Technology Platform as a development, integration and operating platform. On this solid foundation, we have built our own SaaS solutions based on the SAP Business Technology Platform and were one of the first providers to make our solution available in the SAP Store.
The track record of successful cloud consulting and SaaS development projects is what our customers experience from day one.
In addition to the technological changes that have taken place over the last five to ten years, CIOs in the SAP sector are faced with various other challenges, to name just a few:
Many companies have already introduced a “Cloud Preferred” strategy to outsource processes to solution providers with best practices.
This is accompanied by SAP’s next-generation ERP product S/4HANA and a general shift of the SAP product portfolio to the cloud – and this is where SAP’s Business Technology Platform comes in. Many customers are actually opting for on-premise deployment for their new SAP S/4HANA system; in line with SAP’s recommendation for S/4HANA implementations, companies are encouraged to keep the S/4HANA core clean from custom applications, with cloud migration as preferred path for outsourcing.
In order to turn this hybrid strategy into reality, you need a central cusiness cloud platform (Platform-as-a-Service, PaaS) which provides multiple platform services and acts as a modern development, integration and operating platform. SAP provides its SAP Business Technology Platform as the centerpiece of the connection between your on-premise world and cloud applications (SAP and Non-SAP), where applications, data and processes can be integrated across system boundaries to enable end-to-end processes. For various platform services, SAP even makes the successors to existing products available only in the cloud (e.g. Portal Service).
SAP recently published an S/4HANA Extensibility Whitepaper which describes the key concepts for extending SAP solutions and leveraging new technologies in your SAP S/4HANA projects. Architecture patterns provide practical solution approaches aligned to SAP’s overall strategy and recommendations.
